The Controls and Compliance Office is dedicated to supporting the well-functioning of the Associated Students through the continuous evaluation, elucidation, and recommendations on matters of internal policy.
History of the Office
The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) position was created by the 73rd Senate, inside the Internal Vice President’s office, with a vote on the A.S. Finance Committee.
The Controls and Compliance Office was established by the 74th Senate, through S.B. 1-101A, brought by Senator MingJun Zha and Senator Eric Carlson. The legislation was enacted on April 17th, 2024, founding the Office.
The 73rd Senate established the “Temporary Controls and Compliance Committee“; however, while similar in ambition, this Office only bears relation in name to this prior effort.
